Time Machine

Raymond Peace sent the lyrics to this song I wrote some time ago. It was recorded by our
late good friend Joel Mathis. Someday Misty and I hope to record it, too. It's one of our
favorites. Thanks to Raymond for remembering.

Jack

If I had a time machine
I'd fill the tank with gasoline
And then I'd crank it up and set the dial for yesterday
Bells would ring and lights would light:
Red, and green and pink and white
And my machine and I would fly away

(Chorus)
If I had a time machine
To take me back to New Orleans
We could play those old love scenes again.
I wish I may, I wish I might
Spend no more lonely days and nights
Everything would be alright
If I had a time machine.

(Verse 2)
And, if the day should come again
You'd leave me without a friend
That's not as bad as it may seem
I’d head on out to my garage
Move my '57 Dodge
And brush the cobwebs off my time machine

(Repeat chorus.)
